PROJECTS

B.S. Project

Mechanical Design of Computer Numerical Control machine with a traveling column & no traversing table. The project also included study of C.N.C controls and the selection of appropriate controls used in industry.

Facility Location and Plant Layout Project

Design of a Facility with a forecasted demand of step stools. The project included establishing of flow lines with existing machinery which optimizes their utilization. It also included Layout Design in a new building.

Analytical Engineering Statistics Project

Statistical Analysis to find out any significant difference between the prices of major food chain stores. It involved field surveys to collect pricing data from the stores and the analysis of this data using statistical software.

Computer Aided Design Project

A solid model of a "Water Faucet" was made using Pro/ENGINEER.

Providing Industrial Engineering support to the Manufacturing facilities in Lucent's Microelectronics Group. Some of the Projects I have been involved in are as follows.

LUCENT TECHNOLOGIES, Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Machine Study of various tools used in Wafer Production. Making Speed, Capacity, and Availability Models. Creating an interface for a Database and also helping in gap analysis and improvement of this Database.

LUCENT TECHNOLOGIES, Orlando, Florida.
Machine Study of various tools used in Wafer Production. Made Speed, Capacity, and Availability Models.

ANADIGICS, Warren, New Jersey.
Worked with group of Engineers doing a Multi Observation Study (MOS) in the Test Area.

Worked as a teaching assistant in Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering Department and conducting research on Robotic Palletization and developing relationships between the variables involved in Palletization.

Worked on a project that included Time Study. Results of this time study and MTM Standards were used to create Cost Estimation Formulas. These formulas are being used to prepare Quotes.

Metex Corporation, Edison, New Jersey .
Worked on a project that included computerized flow analysis. This analysis was used to create a relational department layout using CRAFT software. This relative layout was then adapted to the actual building dimensions.

Worked on a project that included workflow Analysis and removal of bottlenecks. The results of this analysis were used to create Process Sheets and a Production Schedule was made optimizing time and manpower utilization.
